Volunteering at St. John's Medical Center

Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to help those in need.

The patients and residents of St. John's Medical Center need you! Volunteers help to improve the quality of care provided by the staff at St. John's. They contribute many extra services and spend quality time with patients, residents, and families. A St. John's Volunteer is a "healing presence" who provides hope and support during troubled times and makes no demands on the patient. They are able to focus on the person and not the illness or the injury.

At St. John's Medical Center we have a special place for men and women and offer a variety of volunteer service areas including the living center, primary care unit, information desk, and acting as a Lay Chaplain. For more information contact our Volunteer Office at 739-7541 or email thayden@tetonhospital.org.

PCU Volunteers

The PCU (Primary Care Unit) is the "hospital" part of the hospital. PCU volunteers help our nursing staff meet the needs of our patients and families. The times of greatest need for volunteer hours in the PCU are 10 am- noon, 1-3 pm, and 5:30- 7:30 pm, 7 days/week.

Lay Chaplain Program

The Lay Chaplain volunteers offer a healing presence and help us meet the spiritual needs of our patients and their families. The program is non-denominational and has participants from churches throughout Jackson. These volunteers go through a special training program and the group is guided by a steering committee of dedicated lay chaplains.
